Managing Shareholder in January 2011, Jaret served in various other capacities at Greenberg Traurig, including Administrative Shareholder (Deputy Managing Shareholder), in which capacity he managed the office’s various administrative functions, and Co-Hiring Shareholder, in which capacity he chaired the office’s recruitment function.
Jaret graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law where he was a member of the executive editorial board of and published in the University of Miami Law Review. He also served as a member of the Moot Court Board, the Catsman Fellow for the School of Law’s Center for Ethics and Public Service and the first African-American Chief (President) of the Iron Arrow Honor Society, the leading honor society at the university.
Jaret was a member of the Florida finance committee and assisted in the formation of the Miami steering committee for the Barack Obama ‘08 presidential campaign. He also served as a Co-Chair for “Generation Barack Obama”, the young professionals outreach group. He has been recognized by a number of publications. These include (i) the Daily Business Review, which designated him “Top Dealmaker of the Year” in 2010, (ii) the Miami Herald, which selected him for its inaugural “Top 20 under 40” list, (iii) the South Florida Business Journal, which selected him for its inaugural “40 under 40″ list and as a finalist for its Key Partners Award in the field of Corporate Finance/M&A, (iv) Success South Florida Magazine, which selected him for the 2010 edition of its “50 Most Powerful Black Professionals”, (v) ICABA, which selected him for its “100 Most Accomplished Blacks in Law”, (vi) Who’s Who in Black South Florida, which has listed him among “South Florida’s Most Influential” in all its editions and (vii) Super Lawyers Magazine. Jaret was also the 2010 recipient of the University of Miami Law Review’s Daniel E. Murray Distinguished Service Award.
Jaret currently serves as the Chairman of the “Dean’s Circle”, the leading fundraising society of the University of Miami School of Law, the Vice Chair of the Miami Leadership Circle of the American Diabetes Association, the Secretary of the University of Miami Law Alumni Association, and as a member of each of the University of Miami Law Review Alumni Advisory Board and the University of Miami’s Citizens Board. He also serves on a number of boards, including those of Miami Children’s Hospital (where he chairs the Board’s Technology committee), the American Diabetes Association, Friends of Little River, the Miami Coalition of Christians and Jews and City Year (Miami).
